I am very happy to write a review of my massage trade experience with GT. He is first and foremost a great, happy and interesting guy. Second, he is really into learning about and sharing massage in a very mutual way.
After connecting on here and exchanging emails and coordinating timing, we were able to connect on his visit to the SF bay area. We connected and he was as friendly exactly as he had described himself and we chatted a bit before starting the massage session. As this was my first massage trade like this I asked him "so how does this work?" He offered to let me receive first and I started face down, then we switched and I massaged him face down. During the session he was very good at checking in and we communicated very openly about what we liked - and didn't and gave feedback. he was great and knowing how to used his hands. I told him that I have paid for massages that were not near as good as the job he did and he genuinely was keen on knowing how I was enjoying it. He is very good with his hands and has a smooth, flowing style. I tried to replicate his moves as much as I could, but I know I was not near as good. He was very kind and appreciative of the work I did and I felt good knowing he was enjoying it too. The trade session was great and we were able to chat for a while afterwards. GT is a great guy and like me travels a lot. He is very "real" and his intuitiveness and friendly personality makes him a great trade partner. I am very hopeful that our paths will cross again. |

No need to worry. You have the heart and ambition to move forward and accumulate many more massage exchanges. Consider me a future repeat client (and friend). I'm certainly not a pro. I've started from scratch. I've had to practice. When you think about it, all of us here on M.E. constantly continue to add techniques to our bag of tricks. |

| Nice to meet GlobeTrekker1975 and trade massages. The session was unrushed and relaxed, and he addressed my own problem areas (upper and lower back) with patience. He responded well to my guidance as I requested certain amounts of pressure and strokes going down the back, not up. I felt that he was serious about learning and gave him suggestions about workshops in his area. I think he is a "natural" and hope to trade again on his next visit to Chicago. | |

| What an amazing exchange I had with GT. He was traveling to Ft Lauderdale on vacation and I instantly connected with him during our email conversation. He is new to massage but has quickly learned so much and is eager to learn more. I really enjoy teaching others what I have learned so we spent some time before the exchange getting to know each other and he explained he was new and had many questions that I answered directly to ease his mind. He had been traveling all day so I could tell he was very tense and stressed. I took my time with him and explained my technique and how pressure from just a thumb could do amazing things to your body. It did not take long until I had GT completely relaxed and rejuvenated. His exchange to me was amazing he has natural skills that he did not realized he had and with those combined with what he has learned from his other experience on ME he will definitely be the right person you will want to exchange with. I had a great exchange with GT recently. In our conversations prior to meeting, he had expressed interest in learning new strokes and improving his massage techniques. Upon meeting, I was glad to demonstrate and explain many techniques which I use regularly and the rationale behind each technique. First I massaged him, working on his back, chest, extremities and especially the neck and upper shoulders which were his main complaint. His muscles responded well to moderate focused pressure. I then asked GT to observe me as I performed the same techniques on my partner who gladly made himself available as a demo model. GT performed the strokes in tandem with me, so we performed a very pleasant 4-handed massage on our spokes-model. GT is a quick learner so he then gave me a solo massage, which felt to me mindful , competent and nurturing. Demonstrating to me once again that the Intent to provide comforting and healing touch is more important than mere technique. GT is a friendly and engaging guy, and I would jump at the chance to exchange with him again. Don't miss him if he happens to be in your area!

What can I say about GlobeTrekker1975??? We met on here about two weeks ago and have been chatting ever since. He explained to me that he was a newbie with massage and not to expect too much however he was willing to learn and wouldn't leave until he felt that the massage had been performed satisfactorily for me. I am a teacher by heart and by trade and so said of course I will exchange with you. GlobeT. came over today and what was suppose to be a 2 hour exchange turned into an almost 5 hour extravaganza and the time flew by very fast. First, Globe is a sweetheart of a guy. SEcond he is a fast learner. Third he has great intuitive hand placement and knows what to do with them.. And finally, he was willing to be schooled and constantly checked in with me to see how I was doing--even though he didn't need to--as he was doing just fine. A good time was had by both of us. And afterwards we got take out dinner together and sat around my apartment and chatted for another hour. Wonderful techniques, a fast learner, a great guy and an awesome exchange. Who could ask for anything more in a massage exchange?
If you are looking for a nice guy who is just learning massage however has a great intuitive massage sense about pressure and strokes and techniques then GlobeTrekker 1975 is the guy for you. He may be a newbie however his hands are healing hands and are great for what ails you. Give him a try as I am so glad I took the chance on him as I had the best time with him. Highly recommended and this comes from someone who has 18 years of bodywork experience and is a licensed acupuncturist and performs tuina medical massage when needed. I will do another massage swap with GT1975 ASAP. I suggest you give him a chance also and don't be fooled by his newbie status. This guy "knows" his stuff even if he says he is new at it.
