More About Me
I guess I would categorise myself as a bodywork enthusiast. I absolutely love massages - especially considering I hold a lot of tension and get particularly sore. Massage helps to slow my 20,000 thoughts processing at any given time and the physical touch seems to soothe me whilst also aquiring a general positive state of mind. I am a qualified teacher from Prep to Year 12. Throughout primary school, I teach every subject and have taught all year levels. In secondary school, I specialise in English, Literature, Drama and Religion (although I wouldn’t advise teaching religion to an all boys Year 9 class!) I love working with “kid-ults!” (*Sorry...teacher humour!), and I’ve been working with kids since I began volunteering for the Lion’s Club working on underprivileged kids camps when I was 16. I found these to be so rewarding and making to have such an effect on a child in just one week. Giving them the experience of feeling valued and worthy of love was such a comparison to what they experience in their lives, and I was honoured to see them develop hope. I have always connected really well with kids and have been highly passionate, creative and driven with my lessons. The parents always love how committed I am, but I work crazy hours, so I’ve decided to take some time off - do a complete re-shuffle and organisation of my life and look into the possibility of another profession. Feedback that I have received from other people (as I’m not great at complimenting myself) is that I am a creative, affectionate, adventurous, passionate, spontaneous, quirky, lateral thinker - who is caring and kind, who will talk to anyone from any walk of life and someone who despises seeing people emotionally hurt or in pain (the kind that brings stray dogs home!) I have some amazingly beautiful friends in my life - who love me just as I am. For this I am truly fortunate. As for hobbies and interests?? I’m working on introducing some new interests into my life, with art and photography definitely high in the ranks with a bit of interior design starting in to shine through. I’m also looking into swing jazz dancing, Brazilian Jujitsu and getting back into swimming. I hope my description has given you at least a inkling of who I am. My only other suggestion is to meet me and find out!
