I have been getting massages regularly my entire adult life, and last year I had the opportunity to take a massage therapy class, which I really enjoyed. I then took some private lessons and have been told by the therapists I worked on that I have a gift and should continue to study. I believe strongly in learning the structures and forms of various massage modalities, but I see massage primarily as not goal oriented. Ideally, it should create a safe space, where the client can be in the present moment. It integrates the mind, body and spirit, creating balance and harmony. I am committed to developing my skills and becoming an excellent massage therapist. To do this, I need to continue my education, of course, but I also need to practice as much as possible and get constructive feedback. I would like to trade massages if possible, but I am mostly interested in giving massages. I would prefer to give 2 or even 3 hour massages, but any practice would be appreciated. Thank you.
