I like to use friction to create therapeutic warming strokes designed to both quickly generate heat, in preparation for deeper work, and as a way to effectively deliver the therapeutic, healing properties of essential oils into the body. I use Swedish style strokes by rubbing back and forth along the length of the muscle with my forearm, elbows, and/hands. I use a motion with long stokes along the muscles or small circular movements to break up knots. Again communication is key in understanding what my partner wants and needs!
