More About Me
My interest and inspiration in massage started some years ago when, during a martial arts class, we were taught some massage techniques to practise on each other and my partner complimented me for my "strong hands". Later on, having taught English for some years and travelling, I decided on a career change and started developing massage and alternative therapies.
I have had extensive practice doing voluntary work with a charity for the last year or so, which provides low-cost complementary therapies to mainly but not exclusively, those in the local community with mental health problems. I've also completed my project, which included 30 hours of practice and 20 case studies, as well as on line/classroom study in A and P, Health and Safety, Pathology and First Aid (both Mental Health and Emergency). I have a commitment to on-going professional development and seek to "add on" various complimentary therapies, as I grow and develop as a therapist. I'm due to receive my Massage Diploma very shortly.
I hope to gain more valuable experience and feedback, giving and receiving massage or just giving/receiving, as well as networking/sharing with other therapists and supporting them, who are either in training or qualified and/or anyone who is a body working enthusiast!
