Over the years I have received massage and other holistic treatments for a *lot* of athletic injuries and pains. Along the the way I've picked up a solid understanding of what works, what doesn't work, and what feels good. I wish I had some formal training other than a couples massage class I took a number of years ago, but I can say that my focus is on relaxation while slowly hunting for tightness or inflammation or knottiness (pun, yes). I'm not into hurting anyone or being hurt in the name of therapy. I believe bodywork performed too fast can cause pain and doesn't give the muscles and soft tissue time to release.
