I was a professional massage therapist for 10 years, but I retired in March of 2013 due to a bout with cancer. (I'm all better now!) I let my license lapse in 2018 because it had been so long since I practiced. I seldom do massage now due to time constraints, so if I decline, please don't read anything into it.
When I was working, my style was very western: a hearty blend of Deep Tissue and Trigger Point that add substance to a relaxing, nurturing Swedish base, delicately seasoned with relaxing Esalen and Lomilomi. (Yum!) I've studied eastern methods like shiatsu and reflexology too, but they don't fit my style.
I started private practice in 2006 but I have been an avid massage enthusiast and hobbyist since 1979.
The truly great thing about massage exchanges is that I always learn something new. Maybe it's an eye opener, sometimes it's just something I forgot, and occasionally it's something I sure don't want to ever do to anyone on my table! But everyone has something to teach even if you are a rank amateur, and I always learn something new even though I've been doing this since the Cretaceous period.
I do not discriminate: male/female/other, fat/slim, hairy/smooth, old/young, hot or not. Everyone deserves a the gift of touch.
