I have had 4-5 weekend classes about massage techniques and practices. I enjoy massage and have been told before that "you should be a professional!" I don't think I would enjoy it full time but occasionally I find it very therapeutic for ME to actually GIVE massage...and receiving one can be out of this world!
Connecting with another person in the key. So much can be communicated by touch...both deep touch pressure and soft effleurage. Talking during the massage is always optional and up to the person being massaged. I find some people enjoy it to aid the interpersonal connection, while others prefer to just relax, close their eyes, and quietly appreciate and enjoy the pressure, release, and touch of another person. Both can be amazing.
