I have limited experience in giving massages but I do understand the sense of touch. The very fine network of receptors in your skin, forming your body's largest sensory system. Because there are so many sensory nerves, you can feel the lightest touch. Knowing your patient tolerance of pressure and reading her reaction to touch so that you can apply the right amount of pressure to the areas of concern. I would say that I am way above a novice with no formal training.
