More About Me (Therapeutic Directory)
I love giving massages and have from a very young age. A lot of my earliest experience with it was actually helping godmother to manage her pain while she was dying from breast cancer, so there is certainly a very personal component of it for me. My mother and I also suffer from an autoimmune disorder that basically prevents the muscles from relaxing on their own without active stretching or massage, as well as frequent cramping and the need to strip purine nodules off the surface of the muscles sometimes.
As you can probably guess, this has lead to me having a lot of experience with massage on a pretty well daily basis. I also live by a personal code that basically means I will never allow someone to suffer if I can help them in any way, so I will often give people massages at parties, or on the street, just because I see that they are in pain, or having difficulty moving, so I offer to help.
My profession is probably easiest to describe as Homesteader. I own my own land, and have built my own Yurt to live in. I raise livestock and grow my own food, which generally makes me independent from the economy, which also means it is in no way a standard profession.
my 'professional training' on the other hand is in Space Engineering, with a focus on mid-space colonization. This covers both the Technical aspects of space flight, the Ecological aspects of designing a balanced ecosystem from scratch with the intention of having it be a long term self sustaining system, and Sociological design aspects of trying to found a stable society that can maximize the enjoyment of the human experience for colonists living their lives away from Earth.
Aside from this, I have been very engaged in sports for my entire life, including gymnastics, figure skating, wrestling, rugby, tap, and jazz. This has given me quite a bit of exposure to the proper motion of the human body, muscle isolation, stretching, and the many injuries that can occur, as well as a fair bit of how to treat them. I have spent more time than I can count helping a friend or teammate to troubleshoot an injury, and heal from their injuries more quickly.
