I should mention that I don't identify as female, but since the choices here are limited, that's what I'm stuck with. I've been using they/them pronouns with most people for a while, but some people in my life vary them for gender novelty. I have fibromyalgia and prefer very deep pressure work, although in my past experience I haven't loved Rolfing in particular. I know a lot of different tricks I've picked up from various massage therapists who have worked on me. I would prefer to be a practice body primarily, but if I'm having a good day, I could provide some massage depending on what my hand and forearm stamina is like for the day. I'm very curious to try shiatsu as apparently, it's great for fibro, but I've never actually had the opportunity to get that particular work done. A lot of what I want or feel comfortable with falls firmly into the "it depends" category, so I make no promises as I need to get a feel for both the person and the situation at the time. I am also dealing with some trauma specifically related to massage, so I will generally want to bring a safety buddy with me. I won’t meet with anyone who isn’t vaccinated AND still taking precautions, and I still expect everyone to wear masks.
