More About Me (Therapeutic Directory)
Giving this community a try, hoping to cross paths with kind souls that share a heightened appreciation for the art of touch. My initial bodywork background was founded on educational experience carried out in my 20's and has since been developed and honed through a different lens. A craft that I once aspired to find a career path in evolved and branched off to play a different role in my life. The science that fueled and fascinated my learning began to stale, the appeal of doing massage professionally suddenly felt too technical and transactional. I eventually warmed up to the idea that I simply didn't have the discipline or wired mental toughness for the grind of this nature. Rather than view the experience as a failed venture and blown tuition, I view it as my discovery of self-worth, as an investment in self-care. I find much more joy in touch when there is creativity infused in it, spontaneity guiding it and when I'm able to compartmentalize past knowledge I've collected on the subject and isolate it from what I can capture in the moment cognizant of the room's energy. Few things in life can compare to those moments of physical relief, when blockades in in overworked frames get broken down and freed at the sinew, fiber-by-fiber. I'm hoping to find more than just muscle therapy here, but my expectations are tempered. I have no clue if there is chemistry to be found here, or any bonds to build on, but regardless, it's great to stumble on a niche platform centered around a craft Icherish. Lastly, I figure I should wrap this thing up sparing you from any further mediocre wordsmith blather and key in on details for the sake of clarity. Traditionally, I am fond of interesting people and will dabble in witty banter, but I'm ambitious about my goal of avoiding penpals. My career is demanding most weeks and I am often locked in tunnelvision mode toward business. I will be more responsive/receptive to messages that take a direct approach. I prefer formality. It blends well with my natural style of applying elements of professionalism to sessions. I don't have a bougie spa or a cert mounted on the wall, but I do take pride in bringing that essence of a self-care day to life.
