Yes - I like to connect at more that the purely physical level, so a commentary is useful.

Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
Commentary, along with subsequent photo and email exchanges can confirm whether a potential exchange partner is truthful and would be a match.

Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
It has to be an honest commentary.

Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
Commentaries tell me something about the other persons boundaries, which are essential to know, particularly for a sensual experience. Some merely want sensual sensations, but no
direct sexual touching. Some indicate tastefully they’d prefer direct stimulation to orgasm.

This gives me info about what someone is looking for, and if I don't fit that bill, I don't want to waste either of us time.

Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
I think some meaningful commentary at least tells me that the person has put some thought into what they want out of the community and out of the massage. It is very important to me.

TmUk
Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
I don't think the profile should be just a "sales tool" as I prefer to think of it more as an introduction. Assuming the commentary is true until proved otherwise, its there helping us to find out a bit about each other and see what interests or needs we may share.
Offline in the "real world", the vast majority of massages I've given or received have been with someone who was introduced or recommended by mutual acquaintances.
Love2Pleasure
Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
Someone who takes the time to let you know who they are, is showing that they would take the time to connect with you. The massage is as much a part of connecting the body as it is the mind. Feeling that connection makes the experience so much greater.

Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
I like to read the comments so I can make a judgement.
Robinthebuff
Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
Yes...Always. The commentary is more important than the photos, primary and secondary. However, all, taken together, make up the whole picture and lend to the decision whether to contact or not.
TwinSpiritTouch
Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
I'm not going to agree to an exchange with someone without getting to know a little about them and what they hope to get out of an exchange. Commentary is a good way to start that conversation. Without it the conversation has to take place in emails which can be time consuming. Also some meaningful commentary tells me that the person is serious about exchanging. Blank commentary sends the message that the person isn't all that serious about an exchange.

Most important is the PHOTO .  Also seems to be what's always missing.  That's understood by this company.  Women are hard to get,  so they are holding back, thus the company sells lots of tokens to men trying to get a visual of who they may want to meet up with. Why,  because a picture is worth a 1000 words.

Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
Meaningful Commentary (More About Me) makes communication much easier since common interests can be immediately addressed as well as knowing boundaries. Without it, one can enter a frustrating game of 20 questions. If "Yes meaningful commentary AND Yes a primary photo OR photo gallery" had been a choice, I would have gone with that as I feel photos are essential.
[Private]

Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
In your commentary please tell me what you want so I can determine if we are on the same page. Put some effort into this. I did. If all you write is, "I love massage but I can't afford it," I will probably not be as inspired to contact you as if you're open and show me how you communicate by saying what you want to share. There is some vulnerability in trading massage. A meaningful commentary helps establish trust.

[Private]
Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
The specifics of the commentary are helpful, but in addition the command of the English language, punctuation, alliteration, and vocabulary all help identify traits of the writer. PLUS, it is a certainty that people who can't take the time to tell a bit about themselves aren't *really* interested in moving forward.

Nothing is certain - but it does need to invoke a beginning.

It's the internet!
Folks have a tendency to use their internet height, weight and body type, instead of their 'real life' stats.
... And don't get me started on the 10, 15 or 20 year old photographs.
[Private]
Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
I use the commentary an an initial indication of the person's personality. The more personality that appears in the commentary the greater the likelihood that someone is going to be interested in an exchange. Many people are as shy as you and will find some warmth or humor to be a comforting suggestion that the exchange will be pleasant and rewarding.

Telling me nothing is actually telling me a lot about your intentions. If you want to my keep my interest, you're better off telling me something about yourself. Besides, I've already extended you the same courtesy. Reciprocity is the foundation of any worthwhile relationship.
[Private]
Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
I like to see a photo but the commentary tells me more of what to expect and the intentions of the person. I go by my gut reaction at first and then see how the conversation and e-mails progress before scheduling with someone. You don't need a whole biography but anything that gives you a picture of why they're trading and what they're looking for helps.

It is important to be honest, fair and actually answer messages,

I like to know something about a prospective massage exchange partner and the way they write their commentary does say something about them. Yes, there are liars on here but I don't dwell on that. I figure you just have to screen past them to find the ones who are serious about meeting.

I love it when a guy without a profile pic asks to see a pic, hmmm is that double standards?

People do lie, but what's the point, if you exchange they will be found out. I take everything at face value, so I do mostly go by the commentary although a profile photo is always good too

Lack of disclosure in one's commentary tells me that they are not really interested, so why should I bother? If I can't learn something about a person in 10-15 seconds of reading, I hide their profile and move on. ('Hide' is a nice feature by the way!) I've met many wonderful people on this site. But I won't waste my time if a member can't put forward a minimal effort to tell me something about themselves.

Yes it gives a sense of connection to the person if they are telling the truth. It is frustrating when I email people through the site and they can't be bothered returning the favor even a no thanks would be suffecient

Yes it's a way of knowing about the people, and what they do and don't like

Expressive comments can be identified and I would trust more, you know it when you read it.

Maybe: a primary photo OR a meaningful commentary is sufficient
at least some commentary is better than nothing it can provide some details of a persons ability or expectations

A commentary tells you a little about the person, their experience and what they are looking for.  Having a photo is good so you can see who you are meeting.

The profile is important, but having a real interest in meeting other people and exchange massage goes farther, many people have nice profiles and photos and everything and never bother to answer to emails o requests....

The genuin intention can be known by the words.and to be obvious makes both parties know limitations that leads to being comfortable and relaxed.

I currently find that people lie to get past limitations set in here. I understand the need to run a clean site, clean of riff raff. But they will never get rid of them. Best to allow more open commentary and allow the profanity filter or personal choice decide if they want to contact. Block works for most sites.

It is very important as a place to start. Sadly, many of the descriptions are very short and generic. And let's face it, some are probably fabricated too, but there is no way to stop that.

I always check the profile comments AND the reviews - they tell me more.

A photo should be mandatory.

Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
The way that a profile is worded/constructed tells me about the person. There are a lot of people in here that say they massage but all they are in for is to get something out of it for them.

I want to know something about the person I may be exchanging with. It determines if I contact them or not.

It only needs a few words, but taking the time to do that shows a genuine interest. I understand people have time constraints but if I can find the time to write anybody can!

The way they write can be instructive - and you often get an instinct as to whether there's likely to be any chemistry between you.
You can gain a lot from reading between the lines.

Yes there may be 'disappointments' when the photo and /or commentary don't equate with the person you meet. But surely the starting point is to be that of trust. What follows, follows.

Photos don't always do justice to the person, whereas a good or bad review gives you a true feeling about them

Yes, the commentary is important, at least as a way in to further communication. I would not contact someone where nothing at all is written.

it's always nice to read something about the person on their profile – if it strikes a chord I'd be more likely to get in touch.

Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
A commentary tells you something about how a person wants to appear and be seen, the image they want to project. That is an important but not the only consideration in deciding whether to meet a person. If a person has no commentary of any description, I would need to get this from them in any event before agreeing to meet.

Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
The way a person writes and describes what they are looking for, and what they are offering, assists me assessing if I wish to try an exchange with them.

Yes: The commentary provides me with an intuition into the person I am to massage. This allows me to provide an approach where we both feel comfortable and more at ease, especially for a first contact.

What a person writes reveals something about who they are. I would assume that everything they write is true, unless proven otherwise.

this is a massage site... no need to hide lie or scam...we improve each others health without going broke...this is not a date site.

Maybe: a primary photo OR a meaningful commentary is sufficient
Some information is better than nothing and if people want to lie then that is their problem, they probably won't want to meet up anyway.

A photo is necessary but written details are also very helpful.

You shouldn't be able to have a profile without a personal introduction. As it used to be when I first joined several years ago, if I remember correctly.
As for photos, I think as long as you have a private gallery you can send a link to, it doesn't matter....

Yes: a meaningful commentary tells me something about the person
The commentary, while not necessarily being the deciding piece of information, is still important and provides information that when taken with other information in the profile, is used to make a go or no go decision on the member.

Maybe: a primary photo OR a meaningful commentary is sufficient
Some commentary tells me about a person. Sure people can and do lie, but what and how a person writes is information I can glean something from.
